Westin St. John sent out an update on recover the Westin St. John Resort Villas on January 11, 2019 which brought smiles to many. The resort was closed for an extended time from the 2017 hurricanes and have been working steadily to refurbish the resort back to it’s lush landscaping and pristine pools. The resort opened for the first guest in January however the recovery is still in progress. There will be ongoing work going on until the end of May 2019. There will still be equipment and workers on site to complete Westin St. John Resort Recovery.
To assist with checking in, Westin now provides an airport check in. It is recommended to register for the Ferry and the staff will transport your baggage directly to the resort for you. If you would like to check in at the resort it is now located on the first floor on the administrative building. The formal check in desk is being converted. We are happy to announce an open-air sun terrace with Wi-Fi with seating for our guest to lounge. This should be completed at the end of January.
There are some resort amenities which are not completed. The tennis courts will reopen at the end of April 2019. The Main Pool and Iguana pool are open and are very inviting. The upper Iguana pool will reopen in May when buildings 33 & 34 reopen. All water sports are available. We offer spa services in your villa, beachside or poolside. The massage rooms will open at the end of January. The workout facilitates are open as well.
If you wish to rent a car, we suggest you rent the car on St. John as there are fewer cars available after the hurricanes.
Snorkels is the only fully functional restaurant on site serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mango Deli is open and offers snacks, sandwiches and light meals. Most of the restaurants have reopened on the island providing many other choices. The market is fully stocked if you prefer dining in your villa.
The island does not have health services currently. If you have medical issues it is highly suggested to contact owner services and they will provide air ambulance evacuation plans.
We look forward to coming to St. John!
