On Friday, November 27, 2026, the annual Waikīkī Holiday Parade travels along torch-lit Kalākaua Avenue.
Beginning at 7:00 PM, the approximately 1.5-mile parade travels from Fort DeRussy to Kapiʻolani Park and features local and mainland marching bands, military units, entertainers, and more.
More than simply a holiday celebration, the parade commemorates Pearl Harbor and honors survivors, veterans, and members of the U.S. military.
It’s a wonderful way to kick off the Christmas season — Hawaiian style!
Cheer on the Rainbow Warriors
Football and Thanksgiving weekend just seem to go together!
On Saturday, November 28, 2026, the University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Warriors will host Sacramento State at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM, and the game is designated Senior Night and a White Out.
Even better, this will be the first-ever football meeting between Hawaiʻi and Sacramento State.
Spend the morning at the beach and the evening cheering on the Rainbow Warriors — definitely not your typical Thanksgiving weekend!
Experience a Hawaiian Lūʻau
A trip to Oahu wouldn’t be complete without experiencing a lūʻau.

Pairing a Pearl Harbor visit with the Waikīkī Holiday Parade later in the week can make the parade’s tribute to Pearl Harbor survivors and military members even more meaningful.

Oahu is filled with incredible scenery, and one of the best ways to experience it is on foot.
Choose a family-friendly trail and spend a morning taking in the island’s mountains, coastline, and lush landscape.
