If your looking for a great meal out on Hilton Head Island with a view of the water, Skull Creek Boathouse will aim to please. Every evening the sunset on the marsh over looking Pinckney Island is a marvel. Skull Creek Boathouse opened in the mid 80’s and has been a popular spot for tourist and locals alike ever since. The cuisine is low country fixings at their finest with fresh sea food options abound. Popular appetizers like friend pickles and entrees from Shrimp & Oyster Po’Boys to the ever sought after Low Country Boil can all be found on the menu. The indoor Dive Bar also offers some of the finest sushi found on the island. It is one big deck party every evening during the summer and over the weekends during the off season with live music featuring local and traveling artist.
Skull Creek Boat House has some specials as well throughout the week with a Sunset Menu for those early diners to a fabulous Happy Hour that has won Best Happy Hour for several years running via the local Island Packet People’s Choice Awards. My favorite spot to enjoy happy hour is by far sitting near Skull Creek’s Buoy Bar just steps from the creek. From here you can enjoy a spectacular view while sipping one of Skull Creek’s specialty crafted cocktails or a local craft beer. Before heading back to your resort make sure to stop by the General Store which features local art and great souvenirs to take a bit of the low country home with you. Skull Creek Boathouse is located at 397 Squire Pope Rd. It is open daily for lunch 11am -4pm, dinner 4pm-10pm. Happy Hour is daily 4-7pm with Sunset Supper 4-5:30pm and Weekend Brunch 10:30am -3pm.
