Harry Potter’s “Diagon Alley” Opens at Universal

Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley

Universal Studios has welcomed a magical addition to its already amazing theme park by adding The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley, which hosts characters, rides, and adventures based on the Harry Potter book series and movie series. The added section to the park makes for an increased value of Orlando area vacation properties. The new attraction opens four years after the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure. After the success of the first Wizarding World, Universal decided to expand the popular attraction with an addition in the Universal Studios half of the park.

Like the original Hogsmeade theme park, Diagon Alley features rides and attractions straight out of the Harry Potter books. While Hogsmeade set the scene for Hogwarts castle and its nearby village, Diagon Alley sports fun shops from the underground wizarding village in London.  The Hogwarts Express train allows for easy travel between both Harry Potter areas. In order to ride the Hogwarts Express, guests must purchase a two-park ticket.

The most anticipated ride at Diagon Alley is Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. The wild and imaginative new ride allows visitors to travel through the vaults of Gringotts Wizarding Bank to escape goblins and a fire breathing dragon. The ride also features commentary from the character Bellatrix Lestrange, played by Helena Bonham Carter.

As visitors stroll down the alley they can visit the same shops where Harry, Ron, and Hermione bought their school supplies and treats. The park will also debut a new restaurant, the Leaky Cauldron. Here, old favorites like Butterbeer will be joined by new items such as bangers and mash and “Toad in the Hole”.

Since theme park prices are a bit steep, a great way to save money on your trip is through your accommodations. Orlando is a great area to rent or buy a timeshare due to the excellent resorts and plethora of activities. Also, since most theme park trips include a large family groups and friend groups, it would be important to have extra space, living room, kitchens, and dining rooms to accommodate everyone. At Concierge Realty, we specialize in Orlando timeshares, and have many for you to choose from. One of the most popular in the area is Wyndham Bonnet Creek. The Wyndham Bonnet Creek property is just steps from Disney World and within close distance of all other theme parks.
