Just because summer is over does not mean there is not fun to be had on Hilton Head Island. Fall brings cooler temperatures and lower humidity. With the added bonus of beautiful weather locals like to come out to play and one of their favorite events of the year is Hilton Head’s Oyster Festival. Recreational oyster season in South Carolina typically runs the end of September through the middle of May. However any local will tell you the best time for a oyster roast is the fall. Hilton Head Island’s Oyster Festival running November 8-9, 2019 features all the fresh oysters you could hope for as well as other local bites. Friday November 8, 2019 features all you can eat steamed local oysters, low country boil, pulled pork, seafood chowder & chili. Live music, a Football viewing area, and a wine pull are just a few of the evenings highlights. Saturday is the highlight of the weekend with live music all day, local sea food and other cuisine for purchase as well activities for the entire family. Saturdays festivities include a kid zone, local artisan pop up shops, marshmallow roasting and sports lounge for all those fall football games. It is truly a event not to be missed and highlight of Hilton Head Island’s sense of community. The festival is to be held at Shelter Cove Community Park 39 Shelter Cove Lane Hilton Head Island SC Tickets are on sale now for the events with Friday’s Oyster Roast starting at $35 per adult and $20 for children.
